Mandatory Residencies Explained

A residency is required time on a campus or at another site. It may be an orientation, a module week, a capstone, or an examination. Optional immersions and graduation ceremonies are different and should be labeled optional when the school says so.

Write down the number of visits, the length, the city, and whether you choose among locations. Then check travel, visa, accommodation, and whether those costs are inside tuition. Schools often exclude them.

A program with a required residency is not classified on this site as fully online, even if most weeks are remote.
